Kosse Data Protection Notice

Section A – Overview

This Data Protection Notice explains how Kosse collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the app. Kosse is a utility app focused on countdowns, reminders, calendars, archives, training-related logs, and related planning features. This notice is intended to help you understand what information we process, why we process it, what choices you have, and how we protect your information.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide app functions, maintain app stability, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or unrelated commercial purposes.

Section B – User Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request deletion of your information, subject to legal or operational requirements.
• Request export of certain data you provided to us, where technically feasible.
• Withdraw consent for processing that is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.
• Request information about how your data is used and retained.

You may exercise these rights by contacting us at the email address listed in Section N. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

Section C – Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Information you provide directly: countdown entries, reminders, calendar items, archived entries, notes, training records, settings, optional uploaded images, and support communications.
• Automatically collected information: device type, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, basic diagnostic data, crash information, and limited technical logs needed for performance, security, and troubleshooting.
• Notification-related information: local notification preferences, reminder times, and related settings required to deliver reminders.
• Purchase-related status data: subscription or purchase status provided through Apple, to the extent needed to unlock paid features. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Cookies and similar technologies: the app itself does not rely on traditional browser cookies in the same way as websites, but we may use local storage, cached files, and similar technical mechanisms necessary for app functionality, preferences, security, and performance.

We do not intentionally collect more information than is necessary for the operation of the app.

Section D – Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade user data.

We do NOT share any user-uploaded or user-generated content with any third party.

We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data. All AI processing is performed exclusively on our own internal servers.

We may use a limited number of third-party service providers only for cloud storage, server hosting, or basic infrastructure operations. Any such provider acts solely on our behalf and under our instructions, is bound by contractual obligations to ensure data security, and is NOT permitted to use user data for any purpose beyond what we instruct.

These infrastructure providers:

• Do NOT use data for advertising or user profiling.
• Do NOT use data for AI training or model optimization.
• Do NOT use data for their own purposes or redistribute it.
• Do NOT independently access or use user content except as technically necessary to provide infrastructure under our instructions.

We may also disclose limited information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security. Any such disclosure will be limited to what is legally required.

Section E – Face Data / Biometric Information

Kosse does not provide facial recognition features and does not perform biometric identification.

We do NOT analyze facial geometry, do NOT create face templates, do NOT identify individuals by face, and do NOT collect biometric identifiers for recognition purposes.

If a user voluntarily uploads an image that happens to contain a face, the image is handled only as ordinary user content for the requested app function. No facial recognition or biometric analysis is performed on that image. Any temporary processing copies are deleted after processing is completed, and any stored copy remains only if the user chooses to save it within the app's history or records. Users may delete saved content at any time from within the app where such function is available.

Section F – Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include encrypted transmission where appropriate, access controls, authentication protections, limited staff access, logging, and infrastructure safeguards.

No system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, keeping your operating system updated, and protecting any credentials or device access methods under your control.

Section G – Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, unless a longer period is required by law.

• Uploaded content: if content is uploaded only for processing and not saved by the user, it is deleted after processing is completed.
• Generated or saved results: results and records saved to app history remain available in the user's history until the user deletes them or removes the app data, subject to technical limitations.
• Temporary processing data: temporary files and intermediate data created during processing are deleted after completion of the relevant process.
• Crash logs and diagnostic logs: retained for up to 12 months for debugging, stability, fraud prevention, and security review.
• Support messages and customer service communications: retained for up to 6 months after the support matter is closed, unless a longer period is required for legal reasons.
• Purchase status records: retained as reasonably necessary to provide purchased features, handle refunds, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

Section H – How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Provide countdown, reminder, calendar, archive, logging, and related app functions.
• Store and display user-created entries and settings.
• Process app requests and generate requested in-app outputs.
• Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues.
• Respond to support requests and user inquiries.
• Verify purchase status and deliver paid features.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms where necessary.

We do NOT use personal information for AI training.

We do NOT use personal information for advertising.

We do NOT use personal information for profiling.

We do NOT sell personal information.

Section I – Changes to Policy

We may update this Data Protection Notice from time to time to reflect changes in the app, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this notice and may provide additional notice within the app where appropriate.

Your continued use of Kosse after an updated notice becomes effective means that the updated notice will apply to your use of the app, subject to applicable law.

Section J – AI Processing

If any processing within Kosse uses automated or AI-assisted functionality, all such AI processing occurs on our own servers only.

We do NOT use any third-party AI services to process user data.

We do NOT use user data, uploaded content, generated content, or app activity data to train AI models.

We do NOT use user data for model improvement, model optimization, or generalized training datasets.

Temporary data used during processing is deleted after processing is completed, except where the user chooses to save a result into their app history or records. Saved results remain under the user's control and may be deleted by the user at any time where deletion tools are available.

Section K – International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed or stored in regions other than your country or state of residence, including places where we or our infrastructure providers operate servers. Where such transfers occur, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place and that data remains protected in a manner consistent with this notice and applicable law.

Regardless of processing location, our rules remain the same: no selling, no advertising use, no profiling, no third-party AI processing, and no sharing of user-uploaded or user-generated content with third parties.

Section L – Children's Privacy

Kosse is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe that a person under 17 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

Section M – User Consent and Acceptance

By downloading, accessing, or using Kosse, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Data Protection Notice and agree to the collection, use, storage, and handling of information as described here, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

If you do not agree with this notice, please do not use the app.
